Demonstrating its commitment to the environment, Aphex recently organized a successful mountain cleanup event in the French Hautes-Alpes. Volunteers, including Aphex staff and local outdoor enthusiasts, collected over 500 pounds of waste from popular ski and biking trails. The event underscores Aphex’s dedication to preserving natural landscapes for future generations.
In an inspiring display of community spirit and environmental stewardship, Aphex held a mountain cleanup event in the picturesque French Hautes-Alpes. The event, aimed at preserving the beauty of the region’s ski and biking trails, saw a tremendous turnout from both Aphex staff and local outdoor enthusiasts.
The cleanup effort took place on a sunny Saturday morning, with volunteers gathering at the base of the mountain equipped with gloves, bags, and a shared commitment to make a difference. Over the course of the day, participants scoured the trails, collecting litter and debris that had accumulated over the winter and spring seasons. By the end of the event, the team had collected over 500 pounds of waste, including plastic bottles, cans, and other discarded items.
Maarten Van der Laan, CEO of Aphex, expressed his gratitude to the volunteers and highlighted the importance of such initiatives.
Our company is deeply rooted in a love for nature and outdoor adventure. Organizing this cleanup is just one way we can give back to the environment that gives us so much. It’s our responsibility to protect these beautiful landscapes for future generations to enjoy.
Maarten van der Laan

The event not only made a significant impact on the cleanliness of the trails but also served as a powerful reminder of the collective responsibility to care for our natural surroundings. Participants of all ages, from seasoned skiers to young families, worked side by side, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.
Local resident and avid mountain biker, Claire Martin, shared her thoughts on the event. “It’s amazing to see a company like Aphex taking such active steps to protect our environment. The trails are a big part of our lives here, and keeping them clean is crucial for the health of our ecosystem and the enjoyment of everyone who uses them.”
In addition to the physical cleanup, Aphex used the event as an opportunity to educate participants about sustainable practices and the importance of reducing waste. Informational booths were set up at the base camp, providing tips on recycling, responsible trail use, and the environmental benefits of using products made from recycled and biobased materials.
